The various residence permits can be looked up on Austria’s official government website and applied for as required.

Health Insurance in Austria

In Austria you cannot choose your own health insurance company. Health insurance is compulsory and you are legally insured with the health insurance company that is responsible for the living area and the respective professional group. Registration is done by the employer. Self-employed persons are registered with one of six trade associations after they have registered their trade. There is no private health insurance. However, you have the option of extending your insurance cover with private supplementary insurance.
